Im having a similar issue and im told it could be return line draining to tank as well overnight. 4.108
Numerous tests and replaced parts , hoses, racor, lift pump, barb fittings.. all to no avail even after, using the direct to jerry can method.

Knowledgeable guy said put a check valve in return line to prevent the flow while engine is off.
New inj pump and all lines resealed. No visible leaks. At my wits end so ill install this ball valve for now...
I dont know if it will be any harm in the future..
Like i said no visible fuel leaks at all and even sourced air free fuel from jerry can, ran for over an hour,,still no start overnight.

If the OP is still available,, did this work for you? Im desperate to get outta this town

Sorry I didn't see this sooner, but yes, putting an inline ball valve in the return. line provided a temporary fix.
