Perkins 4108

I am about to embark on a major 4108 rebuild, does anybody know what tractors (ie Ferguson) the 4108 was used in? Maybe cheaper parts wise.
I also wish to remote mount the oil filter so that it is up the correct way when changing it,any ideas?

The Perkins Engine was used in a number of tractor/forklift/industrial applications.

Parts are probably not going to be any cheaper.

Give my Friend Sherri Moon at Transatlantic Diesel a shout. She IS good.

Russ

Just thought I'd chip in a comment about Transatlanic Diesels. I reconditioned my 4-108 last year and got my rebuild kit and other parts from them. Sherri was fantastic! Really knows her stuff and efficient and friendly too. You'll find email details on their web site.

BTW if you are looking to replace your heat exchanger there is a good Bowman supplier in Aust that I dealt with.

Good luck with the rebuild.

ASAP better by far--KIWI's need to shop online

I needed the endcaps replaced on my Bowman heat exchanger (Perkins 4.108). These guys supplied them cheaper, than the Bowman agents in Australia. I ended up getting the two endcaps for less than getting ONE from Australia. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED--ASAP Supplies Marine & Industrial Equipment and Spares - worldwide distribution.

The local KIWI suppliers are TOTAL rippoff artists. (They wanted NZ$166 for ONE rubber endcap). Trying to deal with local KIWI suppliers left a rancid taste. Must be that vulture like demeanor and beady eyed perusal of my wallet

It beggars belief that I could get these things shipped from the UK at one third of what a local guy wanted to supply them for.
