Perkins 4-108 RW pump identification

Can anyone positively identify this raw water pump? It is very similar to the Jabsco pump typically seen on a Perkins 4-108, but it looks a bit different than the (new Jabsco) pump that I bought to replace it with.

The Jabsco pump looks more like a single casting, while this one looks like it might have been welded together. Possibly an older Jabsco pump, but I'm not sure.

I'm trying to decide if I should rebuild it or just get another pump as a spare, and if I rebuild it, is the Jabsco kit the correct one.

Looks similar to the jabsco but boxier. You could pull the old bearing and measure inner and outer races to see if they match the new specs, do the same with the impeller housing and cam. Pumps aren’t cheap but it is good to have a spare or at least be able to rebuild it.

Yeah, that's what I'll probably do. I have a rebuild kit so if everything fits I'm sure it will work fine as the next spare.

Looks very much like a johnson pump on my kubota based engine.

Hi, if it is leaking from the back the lip seal is easy to replace, press it out after disassembly and take the old one to a bearing and seal vendor, they are not a special seal, and buy one and get them pop out the spring in the seal and replace it with the same size o ring, that will solve the seal longevity problem.
Recently been there done that.
