I have a Westerbeke
4-107 with about 29 hours on the meter. It came from a Whitaker Survival Capsule (used for the escape system on offshore
structures). There is a long story behind this engine.
-Purchased engine while building a steel
-Engine ran fine inside the capsule
-I removed the engine and pickled it (what was I thinking when I chose diesel
to fill the cylinders)
-During the many years of construction, the diesel passed by the rings, moisture contaminate two of the pistons which became locked in place
-I finally purchase
replacement pistons, rings, liners, bearings to have the engine rebuilt by a local mechanic
-Mechanic became very ill, and managed to lose the transmission
, heat exchanger and exhaust
manifold (but he did get all of my parts installed)
-because of all of the missing parts, I went a different direction regarding engines
I am interested in selling this engine (for parts if necessary).
PM me if you are interested.
