Perkin 4-108 Oil Leak - Somewhere on the Top

I have a Perkins that is leaking oil slowly. After each use, the side of the engine where the injectors are is juicy wet. I cleaned the area with a degreaser and the oil is not coming from the valve cover. It appears to be coming from the injectors, but I am not sure which is the injector. There are two photos here. One before and one after cleaning. The after cleaning one was taken while the engine was running -- but there is no where that I can see oil leaking. But, there was bubbling and frothing of the cleaner fluid that must have been left at the base of one of the round cylinder things.

Can the oil be leaking from that base even though there was no oil leaking while it was running?

Does that bubbling mean I need to replace that thing? How is that done? Is there a book on basic diesel maintenance that would address the problem such as mine?

Thanks!

Michael

Leaking injector

I have a 4-107 and had the same problem. Pulled all my injectors and took them to a injector re builder. Ran much better when they were redone.
When I did reinstall them with all new seals, I had a diesel leak from one injector body but was not sure which one. As it was a real slow leak. So the next time we motored out for a sail I wrapped a paper towel around each one. Then took back the leaky one to have the body tightened up. Run's like a top now( Well a top that leaks a little oil from the rear seal).

Michael, Presume you mean diesel fuel leaking -- NOT lubricating oil ??
A leak is generally the result of a loose injector - needs tightening OR the crush washer/s need replacing,

I assume it is an oil leak cause the wet mess prior to cleaning was black -- maybe it was diesel fuel?
