I have a
Perkins that is leaking
oil slowly. After each use, the side of the
engine where the injectors are is juicy wet. I cleaned the area with a degreaser and the
oil is not coming from the valve cover. It appears to be coming from the injectors, but I am not sure which is the injector. There are two photos here. One before and one after
cleaning. The after
cleaning one was taken while the
engine was running -- but there is no where that I can see oil leaking. But, there was bubbling and frothing of the cleaner fluid that must have been left at the base of one of the round cylinder things.
Can the oil be leaking from that base even though there was no oil leaking while it was running?
Does that bubbling mean I need to replace that thing? How is that done? Is there a book on basic
diesel maintenance that would address the problem such as mine?
Thanks!
Michael
