Oversizing engine on Saildrive - any vendor?

I am modelling up electric engines for my cat with diesel saildrive on one side and electric saildrive on the other.

The diesel will have a 2 x 9.5KW alternators to help generate power for the electric on the other side.

Total power should be ~100HP
~60HP to the leg and 30HP to the front of the engine.

So I'm trying to find a way to attach a 100HP Beta / Yanmar / Volvo to a saildrive leg.

I haven't been able to find drawings of bell housings to see what may bolt up.
Beta said "No, but maybe"

Any ideas?

i don't think yanmar make anything of 100hp or so that goes on to a sail drive. i think the biggest they do is the 4JH series, which tops out at around 50-60hp

we have a pair of 4JH2TE (ie the turbo charged version) and they are good for 55hp or so.

if you cannot come up with a suitable engine, why not do what we did which was to fit a seperate diesel generator ? we have 6kva MASE, but easy to go bigger.

may cost a bit more but you have enhanced redundancy plus better situation when sitting on anchor.

cheers,

The Volvo D2-75 engine coupled to the 150S saildrive is rated 75 h.p. @ 3000rpm. The drive could probably handle more h.p. as long as the torque isn’t higher than that of the D2-75. The engine can handle as much power off of the front end as you need.

The mounting adapter for the saildrive is an SAE #7 “ Borg Warner” pattern and the input shaft on the saildrive is a 10 tooth spline with an adapter up to the 26 tooth involute BW spline.

So you plan to pull 20,000W off of the front of the crankshaft?
Do you think that’s advisable? How are you going to prop that motor?

I guess we'll find out.
