Hi All -
I just got an outboard
back from the shop which came with my boat
but I never mounted (it had been out of service
for several years). In removing the currently in service motor
and trying to mount the new one, there is a difference in the clamp area which is preventing me from fully mounting the "bracket" on the transom (actually lazarette in my case). On the black motor
you can see that the outer part of the bracket is basically flat...the white one has a bar protruding. On the black motor this bar is underneath another bar creating a flat surface, and on the white one it's on the outside.
One is a johnson and the other is an evinrude
but i believe they are basically supposed to look the same. Please see attached photo's, and if you can help, help!
Caveat - I know nothing about outboards - I hope this is a reall simple stupid fix!
