Open Diesel Tank

A couple of weeks ago I had to remove my fuel sending unit to replace it.

I didn't thing it through and the top of the tank where the sending unit came out has been left open since.

The tank was 100% full when I left it and it has been under 50 degrees (down to the teens) ever since.

Is there anything I should treat the fuel with before I put the sender back in? I'm going back on Saturday to put things back together.

If it didn't rain or snow into the opening, I wouldn't fret about it.

Unless there’s a steady leak directly into the opening I wouldn’t sweat it. While the tanks open or accessible I would take a look inside if you haven’t done it in a while.
