Yep I was worried about that. This all started because I noticed that both engines were slobbering diesel at idle.

At least much more then they ever have. So I was concerned, it's been 10 years since I rebuilt the Pumps and injectors.

So I mixed up a solution of Stan-dyne 40% to 60% Marvelous Mystery Oil, filled a pump atomizer with the same, started the engines and pumped about 6oz in to the intake as it ticked over, then I raised the stop lever and cranked the starter over and let another 6oz into the intake.

I let em sit for a couple of days, then started em up and and run em in gear. Now we are talking about smoke out the exhaust for the first couple of minutes. Then I ran em in gear up to 1200 rpm. What this does is clean any carbon deposits from the seats and rings.

Then when I adjust the valves I'm sure they are seated.
