new “back end” on a FP Genset

Please do not turn this into “ I hate FP generators”!

I have fitted a new back end to a FP Genset. Replacing one that had damaged coils.

When fitted and wired up correctly to give 240v, I have, after short running ie less than a min got a electric burning smell and some smoke.

I am in touch with FP.

Question: Has anyone else had smell and smoke specifically after fitting a new back end?

Question: if yes, did you run it until the smell stopped.

What I am getting at is, is there a running in period?

Smell maybe, no smoke. You got something wrong. I'd send it back before you burn it up.

All sorted, exhaust leak seems to account for smoke and smell.

FP in USA and in Germany helpful and responsive.
