Needed: internal tank fill tube, 1.5"NPT thread, 1.5" hose barb.

I ordered a new diesel tank. 1 1/2" NPT female thread on the tank. It was supposed to have an integral tube welded into the tank per ISO & ABYC. It did not.

I am looking for a fill tube or fitting that screws into the female 1.5”NPT, has an internal fill tube (just under 2 ft long) and a large barb for the 1.5" hose running to the fill port on deck. My hope is there is one that does not limit my internal diameter much.

Thanks in advance for the links and recommendations,

(I must be missing the boat on good keywords as nothing I find online is marine, threaded, or ok for diesel.... dominated by tractors or trucks. Any clue is appreciated.)

In a normal rectangular word I would have just TIGed a stainless tube to a barb fitting.

This is the tank. Note the location of the fill tube thread. A ridged tube will not work.

Cadmus,

I do not believe that you need to fill the diesel tank from the bottom so the 2 foot long stand pipe is not necessary. A standard 1 1/2 NPT to 1 1/2 barb fitting will do it.

I am trying to follow the ISO & ABYC the best i can. I assume the requirement/suggestion is to reduce foaming of fuel (when filling) that then gets pushed up into the sea or into the cockpit via the air vent tube or backing up the fill tube. (Gord surely will know hehehehe.)

It is possible that the plastic welder can fix it without reducing the internal diameter of the tube. But just incase that is his plan I would like to have researched alternatives including the one i propose here.

Surely a flexible diesel safe length of hose that will fit through the threaded fitting would perform the required job, simply braze an appropriate barbed fitting to the fitting for the fill tube, sure it will be slightly smaller in diameter but will it adversely affect performance?
