Montreal, CA - need exhaust manifold for DD 6-71

We're in the process of doing the down east loop and are presently in
Montreal. It appears that the exhaust manifold on my stbd Detroit Diesel 6-71 engine is failing based on a patch of external rust that has developed near the aft most cylinder, and the fact that I've started losing fresh water coolant on that engine.

Any suggestions for getting it serviced?

Thanks in advance and best regards,

Wayne Beardsley

I strongly suggest my marina, The Royal St. Lawrence Yacht Club. We have many trades people here to service our cruisers up 50 feet. Centrally located by the International Airport in Dorval, you will be pleased.

Thank you for that information. Right now we are at Marina la Ronde on Ile Sainte-Hélène so unfortunately we would have to go backwards the last two seaway locks to get to your club. Do you know a good diesel mechanic who could travel here?

We stopped at RSLYC 16 years ago with our old boat and the staff was very helpful and accommodating.

Call Guite Marine in Lachine, at 514-637-0902.
Mr. Guite may do it, or refer you elsewhere because of age.
He doesn't exaggerate, like some do.

Detroit Diesel in Dorval (trucks etc)
