Mixer Elbow - Thread Sealant . . . Yes or No ?

The mixer elbow on my yanmar ysb8 is not the tightest fit.
I have used teflon tape but this remedy only lasts for a little while before it blows it out.
Any suggestions for a better seal?

Thanks

Sounds like the threads are shot. High Temp RTV (Room Temerature Vulcanizing) is a temp fix.......
