Have issue with fuel filter.
After lots of research on sites and knowing the block is a D1005 I found that the Kubota fuel filter 70000-43081 was supposed to be a replacement for the Universal 298854. Now after buying 4 fuel and oil filters from Kubota and hauling them down to our boat in Mexico I find out the Kubota fuel filter won't fit. Width is a little big 3 1/4 in. wide and you can't get it on. So brought the fuel filters back to Canada and returned them. So now what. Sites I've looked say it's supposed to fit. What did I miss. Oh by the way the Kubota filter here is $10 and the Universal one is $18 US or buy it in /Canada at $30 plus.

1. There is no reason to ever have to buy a filter from Universal. No reason to have to go to Kubota either. A good auto store will be just fine. I assume you have the space difficulty under the alternator, right?

2. There are plenty of "filter equivalent" lists on the 'net.
