Leece Neville alternator and tachometer problem

Hi everyone,

I have a Leece Neville (Model 8RG2043) alternator. After putting the engine back together I can't seem to connect up my tachometer. Does anyone know what link on the back of the above alternator the tachometer cable is attached to?

Ted. Tasmania.

Re: Leece Neville alternator and tachometer problem

The Tachometer is connected to the (Alternator's) “AC tap”, usually marked "AC", "R" or "W".

I think that Leece Neville #8RG2043 may be the internal regulator, used on a lot of their Alternators.

Re: Leece Neville alternator and tachometer problem

Thanks Gord, AC and from what I found on their site, it connects to the yellow wire, I've now done that and it works wonderfully. Do you know if I can connect two Tachometers to the one alternator?
