Kobuta Compression Release Valve

Hello,

I've got an Ample Power DC genset with a Kobuta single cylinder diesel running it. I think it's a version of their EA330 model. I'd like to bleed the air from the fuel system, but I can't find the valve to release the compression (I'm told there is one).

Can anyone post a picture of the valve, or describe where I can find it (and how to engage it)? I'd like the engine to spin faster during the bleeding process so I can get the air out of the fuel line faster.

Thanks
Pat

Re: Kobuta Compression Release Valve

Found It!

I just wasn't looking hard enough. The release valve is a spring loaded lever with a finger pad (think old style ATV throttle) just under the fuel injector.

I also discovered I couldn't get the thing bled because the solenoid style fuel pump had crapped out on me. I have a new vane style pump on order, should arrive this week. Why do boat projects always seem to take longer than expected?

Thanks anyway.
