Jabsco Key Stock?
Need to decide what key to put on the stainless shaft to an aluminum pulley. Anyone have an opinion? I have a steel key but think I should use stainless.
This pump is seawater to my heat exchangers for trans and engine then to exhaust.
Thanks in advance.

The key stock should match the S/S shaft stock (as nearly as possible).
To reduce the dissimilar metals problems, liberally coat the shaft & pulley with an anti-seize compund before assembly.

Thanks Gord. I didn't think steel was a good idea but I had seen steel key stock on steel pulleys with a stainless shaft before.
By the way, thanks for all your good advice over the several years I've been on the forum. Sometimes we disagree but eventually I come around to thinking you're right.
regards

Thanks for the Tef-Gel recommendation. I need to find a source here in the middle of the Pacific. Home Depot? Ace Hardware? WalMart?
There are no marine stores within 100 miles of here.
regards,

Thanks Del,
I see 8 lbs is only $765. Nearly $100 a lb. Yikes! Looks like Fisheries has a better price but is backordered.
