Re: Isuzu 3KR1 Injector pump

Talked with Klassen Diesel today, Isuzu guys here in Canada. He said the trick is to leave the Injector pump mounting bolts done up until the spring and plate are released. That holds them in a more workable position. Even had a screwdriver on the spring this afternoon but failed. Tomorrow will go at it with mirror, flashlight and forceps. With spring and plate off, pump should lift out even with stud in place.

Got it! An hour on my knees with a flashlight, mirror and surgical forceps to undo the spring and then it all just lifted out.

Pump rebuild was $120.00 CDN. Put it back on today, took 15 minutes! Runs like a charm!!

Good result!
Cheapest pump repair I've ever heard of. Diesel Services in Auckland I took our injection pump to charged me $100 to pull a single cylinder one apart & wanted $630 to repair. I said **** that & did it myself for $210.
They returned my pump in bits minus a snap ring. Diesel tech who pop tested my injector told me to have a go at it myself, as he said," it ain't rocket science"
Glad your experience was a lot better.
