First time I broke 100 mph by myself was on a Kawasaki H2.
The 750 triple, I was 13 or 14 at the time I guess.

WERA used to have a whole racing series based on the RD 350.

Aprillia made the last street legal two stoke sold in the US that I know of, the RS 250, a little smaller than I liked but it made a great track bike

Aprilia sold RS50's in the USA for a few years past the RS250. The RS50 was bascially a RS125 with a 49.9cc engine swap. (Aluminum frame, 6 speed, water cooled, oil injection). I've owned a couple of them. One stock, one with a 80cc kit.
I made my older boys street ride them before moving to anything larger. They look back with fondness

Aprilia also sold the 2009 RS125 street bike for 'off road use only' but it came with a 17 digit VIN. 140 were imported. It also came with the most HP (about 25 at the wheel) and a 'power valve'. Parts were dirt cheap due to small CC despite being Italian. I bought all the bits from Europe, new wiring harness, turn signals, passenger pegs, etc.

I also took it to track days to supplement my larger bike at the time (Panigale). My woman ended it's life by high-siding herself on the last session of a 3 day track day weekend down in N. Fl (Jennings). She knocked herself out, broke her wrist and destroyed the bike. To replace it, I bought a Euro import, sans 'powervalve' and it was terrible. Less than zero power down low, a little in the midrange, and seemed up top not that great either. I sold it and didn't miss it.

I had a CBR 1100 XX, which was I think a good bike, just not a track bike.
I raced a Suzuki GS 500E in Clubman WERA, we often ran with the GP 125’s and there were a couple of kids that I couldn’t stay with on my 500, but of course it was no GP bike either, and being kids, they had no fear.

I just had a CL175 and did all I could to give it more hp which wasn't much. On nearby winding mountain roads I'd try to keep up with the cafe racing RD350s but they passed me like I was standing still, and then one day a guy in a stock BMW R75 zipped by right with them, sitting upright! I still turn my head at every opposed twin I see thinking "ahhhh, someday..."

I followed common sense and your advice and used a 50:1 mix. During our 30 day BI cruise my 8 hp Yamaha started the first pull each and every time. Thanks again
