How to flush/fill heat exchange system

On my Tashiba-31 I have a 3GM30F engine where the cooling circuit goes from the engine to a hot water tank and then to a cabin heater. I've recently drained and removed the heat exchanger. How should I proceed to fill this system with new coolant, so I don't have an air lock somewhere between the engine the hot water tank or the heater?

Fill at the cap, run, add coolant as the level goes down, run, add....

The circulating pump should take care of it - the coolant moves quickly enough to overcome any bubbles, releasing them at the fill site,which you'll notice is at the top of the system. The tubing going to the heaters is fairly small diameter.
