My boat has a smallish fuel tank, 36 gallons for a 4JH3E. I carry 3 jerry cans of diesel and and 1 of gas. When I get to the Bahamas I switch to 2 cans of each as I use a bit more gas there, mostly for the dink but some for the Honda generator too. I have four 6 gallon water jugs, these are usually empty and stowed in the lazarette as I have 130 gallons of fresh water. I use the jugs for filling up the tanks.

Your fuel usage will be directly related to your engine driven devices and your lack of light air sails.

Truly!

But I think some sailors would have been better off, for example, if they had acquired a motorsailer rather than an auxiliary to better conform to how they actually make passages.
