Here's mine on a Universal diesel which is about to be replaced. Probably not original - I'm guessing about 10 years old.

I have an 06-07 cat with 2 nanni (kubota) 29hp engines (3.100HE). One elbow failed just like yours. The other is showing signs of going. A previous boat lasted about 15 years.

Have you found a source for Nanni elbows other than the dealer in Annapolis? They are out of stock.

my yanmar deistributor/dealer said to me the elbow lasts 5 yrs. after that , yer on yer own. have fun. good luck.
