engine mounts

right now my perkins 4.108 gets an overhaul
Originally this boat started off with a westerbeke diesel ,. after some 10 years a new Perkins was put in
The bed has a 15 degree or more slope down wards and in order to accommodate the Perkins, the mounts at the gear end had to be lowered
However the new bases for these 2 mounts does not follow the slope of the bed and are level needless to say the engine supports on the block are in a strait line should I correct this now that the engine is out?

Re: engine mounts

Yes, engine vibration damper bases should be parallel to the mounting surface. Either make a tapered shim between the bed and damper base or modify the transmission mounts so the damper lands parallel to the bed.
