Engine cutting when shifting gears....?

I have a Nanni Diesel (Kubota block) and Lewmar throttle, ...recently upon shifting from forward to reverse the engine cut out, and does so continuoulsy now..then it starts back up right away, engine is running well, not stalling or missing,.. it cuts out instantly upon shifting. Anyone have ideas, is this in the throttle wiring ?

Disconnect both controls at engine end to isolate engine from equation.
