You can only try. I did get a few yanmar parts out of state once years ago. So it can happen.

Re: Does the Yanmar 2GM20 have dry sleeves?
Page 1-6 (Principle Construction) of this Yanmar Service Manual states that the 1GM was “sleeveless”, and the 2GM, 3GMD, 3GM, & 3HM were “dry sleeved”.

Re: Does the Yanmar 2GM20 have dry sleeves?
Assuming two engines, you may even consider overhauling one at a time. By that I mean a few years apart. That is normal for aircraft as it has a way of spreading costs out so both engines aren't due for overhaul at the same time

Well not totally different. But the later fresh water cooled 1gm10, 2gm20 and 3gm30 were sleeveless (per the later years shop manual). Think Yanmar did some cost engineering on the later fresh water cooled engines. Though the parts are NOT interchangeable. The older 2gm pistons and cylinders for example were a little smaller then later years.
It does look like the basic block casings were the same, just machined different, so parts were not interchangeable. Thank you Yanmar.

Re: Does the Yanmar 2GM20 have dry sleeves?
Per Page 1-4*, the 2GM20 (F/C) has a “ Sleeveless” cylinder.
