Re: Dinghy Engine

Gee guys theres lots of 2 strokes for sale down here in Louisiana!! Yamaha, Suzuki ,and a few more I either cant spl or don't remember LOL but there here cus we have so many fishermen who work them daily for crab and shrimp, oysters ect. Most of whom won't buy the 4 stroke because of the weight, and the fact in the small horse power 4 strokes just don't get there boats up to plane quick enough to work in the real shallow water where they fish !! We have on-line sites that tell us where we can buy gas without alcohol !! just for our 2 strokes, cus the alcohol KILLS 2 strokes !! anyway you can buy cheap for CASH down here also Just a thought

Re: Dinghy Engine

Idealy youd have a little 4hp four stroke, very kind on fuel and a 10-15hp two stroke for when speed is desired

Re: Dinghy Engine

I have that exact Walker Bay dinghy. I use a 2 stroke 15hp Yamaha, weighs about the same as a 4 stroke 5hp Honda. Runs like a champ. I have that Honda as a backup, doesn't move the dinghy worth a crap, but bought it without knowing . . . . Got the 15hp used and had it fully serviced. You will never get up on plane with the 5hp
