Diesel Outboard

Does anyone have any first hand experience with using a diesel powered outboard engine. I appreciate that they are expensive, a lot more so than petrol (gas) powered outboards, and perhaps a bit heavier but it would eliminate the need to carry an extra, volatile, fuel on board. I, personally, will be trying to eliminate both LPG (Propane) and petrol (gas) in order to only rely on one fuel type and be able to store that fuel safely. I am interested in what the forum has to say. Chris
