Diesel Fuel Line Size - Twin Lehmans

I have twin Lehman 120's and am looking to replace my fuel lines (30 yr old copper). The original lines are 1/4 inch throughout from the tank to the racors (900's) and from the Racors to the lift pump. My Westmarine guy seems to think that is too small. Is 1/4 adequate or should I go slightly larger when I replace the liness. Also, what micron replacement Racor filters do people recommend for my setup.

You will be better of going to 3/8". Less likely to plug, less work for the fuel lift pump and I believe the Racor filters are 3/8" fittings.

Racor 900s take a 7/8" male fitting, but racor makes all kinds of adapters, I use 1/2" blue flexible fuel hose. 1/2' is standard for an 8/71 DD. 2 Lehman 120s = 1 8/71, more or less.

1/4 would be smaller than most I've seen, even on sailboats. 5/16 and 3/8 are common. Enough fuel will flow in 1/4 though...obviously I guess!

Okay, bad guess on the racor fitting size. 1/2 inch would be even better as Lorenzo says.
