Hello....looking for suggestions for a good, user friendly diesel engine guide. Back to a diesel after many years away...thanks

Re: Diesel engine guide

I have the same engine in my Pearson and have the owners manuals in electronic format if you want a copy. If you just want general information on the care and feeding of diesel engines then it's hard to go wrong with Nigel Calder's book "Boatowner's Mechanical and Electrical Manual".

What transmission do you have with that? I also have the manuals for the BW Velvetdrive.

Re: Diesel engine guide

By the way, I would not call the W58 owner's manual user friendly. Much better to go with Calder's book for general maintenance but the manual is a good resource for specifications, wiring and other specifics for the W58.

Re: Diesel engine guide

Based on recommendations in other threads, I just ordered a used, "Troubleshooting Marine Diesels" for a $1. Haven't received it yet so can't give any personal review, but the price was right. You can't go wrong with any of Calder's books.
