I need to replace the engine in my 32ft John Pugh steel ketch which has a Lomatec engine which although has only done 107 hours is blowing blue smoke through the exhaust and am getting blow by into the sump. I have narrowed the choice of the engines down to two. (1) First option is a Vetus M4.35 and (2) a Beta 35. Just thought I would seek some guidance and insight from the Cruisers out there of there knowledge of either engines and possible issuses from either. Both engines come with 5 year warranty. Any help would be most appreciated.
