A leak from closed
cooling system to
raw water in the heat exchanger will give no external sign of leak.
If you have a
cooling system pressure tester, you can pressurize the closed cooling system. See if it holds pressure.
If there is a leak, it could be external (like hose or hose clamp issue), internal to the engine (like
head gasket) or in the heat exchanger.
After pressurizing for a suitable period of time to allow for the leak to manifest, start the engine while someone collects the first gallon out the
raw water discharge. If
antifreeze in it, you will be able to smell it.
