Charging from Yamaha T25XA Outboards

Hi team!

So I just installed two 2018 T25XA Yammy Outboards and want to hook up some wires to take advantage of the 14ah charging capability but have no idea where to attach the wires... I figured these are common cruising outboards on catamarans so someone out there must be able to help!

Also where can I buy/get a workshop manual for these motors?

Cheers in advance!

Do too much of that and you may burn out the alternators. They are designed to charge the starter battery, not a bank, and as you cause the regulator to keep them "on" more and more, heat goes up and up.

That said, consider simply putting the extra batteries in parallel with the starter batteries, and add a switch.

You could mount a "snap disc" thermostat on each alternator, that interrupts the signal when they reach a certain temperature. They are just little heat activated switches/discs about the size of a quarter or 50 cent piece. Not surew what temperature you would have to find though...

Its more of a back up wy to put some power into my house bank if need be. My old ones were set up like this but someone disconnected the wires one day and I could never figure out where they were meant to go and now I have new motors id like to get this sorted again..

This is certainly a good idea! I still need to find a solution to my original issue though - where to plug the house charging wired onto the motor!
