Cetus control Perkins 4108. Engine shuts on engaging

My Perkins is old but has been performing well and very forgiving for my some mistakes.

While anchoring today I noticed that the moment I tried to engage the running engine with a Vetus engine control throttle, the whole engine shuts down.

What could be the problem here?

I mean VETUS control and not Cetus.typoerror

Bang onRight ! I discovered this in the morning. Divers sorted it out. In the. Night I did not. Price when a line sneaked over the deck and the rogue currents did the needful :-)
