Bow Thruster

My bow thruster only works when the engine is on. When I turn it on at the helm the port side turns on automatically and I can’t turn it off or use the starboard side. The only way to make it stop is to shut the power off l. I’m thinking a short somewhere. Just a note it worked fine the other day at the dock and failed leaving the dock today. Any help would be appreciated. I have the round push Button panel with lit green and red leds. 2008 Beneteau 46 O

It sounds like the reversing solenoids may be sticking. These are wear items that can sometimes be reconditioned by opening them up and filing the contacts. Eventually, the contacts are beyond recovery and you'll need to replace the solenoid.

Why would you want your bow thruster to work when your engine is off ?? and yes bad solenoid or switch
