I got it going today around noon. Patience and a couple shots of shine each day helped me through.

I think Poseidin (sp?) must have been charging my battery. I conserved it and also did't have to spin it too much. A good bit though.

I very much appreciate all the advice and support.

I jumped the starter with a screwdriver so I could be one with the beast under the sink.


Oh, the bulb was there before me. Been intending to take it out. Didn't wish to do it before I needed to open the fuel sytem up for another reason. It's gone now.

I missed this before. Good troubleshooting theory/process question that I did ask myself at one point. But no lead was there to follow.

You don't need to regress to a simian existence to bleed your engine. If you have the Yanmar described above, 3GM30F, you have a manual lever on your lift pump. Open your primary filter bleed bolt and pump the manual lever until fuel spurts out. Retorque priming bolt. Do the same to your secondary filter and your injection pump. After all three have been bled, perform a remarkable feat of de-evolution as you lose your simian appendages to atrophy and walk to your ignition switch. Then use your normal sized arms (compliments of 6 million years of Hominid evolution) and start your engine. It works every time and you need not to be sailing on the Planet of the Apes.
