Beta marine

Going to repower in the next year. Right now a beta marine is at the top of the list. Any feedback from someone cruising with this aux would be appreciated. Looking at the 90hp or close model.

Re: Beta marine

I have a Beta 38. A bit cold blooded but major improvement over a Yammy. Have 100 plus hours with no complaints. The build is first rate.

Do the low vibration claims exist? Anybody with parts availability feedback in remote areas? The kubota block seemed a plus as they should be a lot of places.

We love our beta, repowered from a 2gm13 to the beta16 and it is a night and day difference. The beta has about a 1/3 of the vibration o the yanmar with the beta being a 2 cylinder still, it is a good comparison. I also like how betas filters are place at the front of the engine with the built in oil pump that works just like it should. From what I have been told getting parts should be simple. Any bobcat or tractor mechanic should have anything we need if the chandlery doesn't. We have yet to go out side the US though, and nothing has given us a problem yet.

Re: Beta marine

A good friend repowered his Westsail 32 with a Beta. Extremely smooth running and quiet. Also support from Beta USA is first class.

Yes I have been very happy with the response from our local rep on Orcas. Glad to hear the Low vibration claims hold up.

Re: Beta marine

+1 on the Beta Marine. I have heard lots of good things. US support is very good.

For naturally aspirated engines, I think Beta is the way to go. Will probably put one in my project when the time comes.

I ordered a Beta B60 for my Compass. We should be installing it in the next few weeks. I will post my impressions. Motor looks great though.

Re: Beta marine

I bought a Beta 20 about 12 years ago and have absolutely no complaints.

Great customer service.
