Best place to repower

By general region (Europe, Caribbean, North/Central/South America, East Asia, etc).

I'm assuming that this is somewhat maker dependent (yanmar for Asia, Volvo penta for Europe, etc).

Repower can be anything from new/used engine (with core swap) to an in-place rebuild (assume the bottom end is good, but rings, pistons, valves, cams, etc. need to be rebuilt/replaced).

Also curious about shipping engine in (generally a hassle due to bypassing local mechanics, getting held hostage by customs, etc.)

Looking for general ideas about getting this done reasonably quickly and economically as possible.

Thx...

Re: Best place to repower

This also depends on where you eventually want the boat to end up, and that locale’s emission requirements.
For emissions even having the correct stickers counts.
Just the way it is.
