Are these oil filters interchangeable?

Was sent an oil filter with part number 119305-35151. Is this interchangeable with 119305-35170?

Thanks

Re: Are these oil filters interchangeable?

Yes, google “Yanmar 119305-35151” and you will get multiple answers referencing both part numbers.

Yanmar changed the part number 119305-35151 to part number 119305-35170.

And then start buying your oil filters at NAPA....

With Yanmar parts, the first portion is the part # (e.g. 119305). The second part has to do with how it is sold. For exmple how many units to a case and whether it was for wholesale, retail, and whether it was intended to be sold by the case or by the each, etc.

I get completely different numbers if I buy from my mechanic than if I buy it from West Marine or Defender.

Re: Are these oil filters interchangeable?

These responses are why this site is so awesome! Thank you for this information. Not only was I able learn that the filter I received was OK to use but a better place to buy the next one and what the part numbers mean. Really appreciate it.
