Re: Adding A Fuel Polishing Diversion Loop

Tee into your engine supply line and the engine return line. You cannot run while underway, and you are limited in flow due to [usually] small diameter of the return, sou cannot generate turbidity to agitate the tank. 80/20 rule - 80% of the benefit for 20% of the effort. Make sure there are valves to isolate the polishing loop.

Good luck

Peter

Re: Adding A Fuel Polishing Diversion Loop

Hi I have two tanks and the best fuel management improvement that I have made is to install a watertrap/sedimenter to each tank outlet, prior to the filters. The sedimenter has the provision to plumb more than one outlet to it and this is where I would install the intake of a polishing circuit if I were to install one. I have chosen to go the route of using a high volume fuel transfer pump through a large filter that can cope with the volume, suction is direct from an acess port in the top of the tank, returned to the filler, enabling the contents to be agitated by the returning volume and around and around we go. I do this at least once a year and no more problems.
