5411 universal
I have a 5411 universal that is weeping some diesel from the top of the injector pump around one of the nozzels. The parts list states that it is an 'o' ring,my question is are these o rings standard or special as far as material.
it only weeps a little bit after the motor comes up to temp then tends to stop weeping all together,is this common,my last motor was gas so i have no idea how critical this is.

Re: 5411 universal
The Torresen site is unhelpful on this.
I cannot give you an exact answer, but...
Most of the O rings that you can get at the hardware store (eg Ace rather than Lowe's/HD) are nitrile which is compatible with diesel. I have used them in different spots on my Westerbeke.

Re: 5411 universal
I also have the 5411, and have been dealing with a few issues with it recently. Universal used orings where many would have used copper washers, for instance the bleed bolts. I found most of the orings on mine were split or disintegrating. I bought a whole case of orings from Amazon for $13. Buying the single oring for the bleed bolt from the universal dealer here in boot key would have been $20+.
Buy the case and keep them handy

Re: 5411 universal
There is a thick copper washer that goes in the injector hole below the nozzle, that may be what they're calling an o-ring. I don't have the part number handy, but it should be shown on the Torreson (toad) site. Also available from any Kubota tractor shop for a fraction of the price. Tell them it's for a B5100 tractor. While you have the nozzles out, you may as well put new ones back in, and they come with a new washer. $71 each at my local Kubota dealer vs. $401 at Torreson. Once again, B5100 tractor for the 5411 / M15 Universal, Same exact parts, All engine parts can be had from Kubota except the alternator, exhaust manifold, and water pump">raw water pump.

Re: 5411 universal
I read the original post again, I now see the leak is from the pump, not the nozzles. Sorry about that. I've had mine apart, I dont think there are any o-rings or crush washers where the pipes connect to the pump. You may have some corrosion on the nipples or in the pipes causing the leak. Local Kubota shop can help with that as well. It's a Kubota engine, no different than the tractor engine except the three parts I listed in my previous post.
