2QM15 water pump an onging saga

I can get a new pump at $425 or the rebuild kit at $75, but have to ship to someone in a different state and have reshipped.

has anyone installed a aftermarket pedestal style pump , Jabsco makes several, and if so which pump did you use.

I am thinking of doing this for ease of replacement of seals and availability.

Any thoughts would be most welcome.
