2GM20F Oil Pressure and Temp Sending Units

I would like to install both an oil pressure and temp gauges. I also want to keep the existing idiot lights and horns. I have been told that I would have to tap the existing holes for standard sizes and also add T's. Is this true? I really don't want to tap anything on the block.
Does Yanmar or anyone make a T that will fit the original metric holes, senders and new standard senders?
Also does anyone know the size and thread of the existing temp and oil pressure sending units?
The space between the oil sending unit and the main pulley is tight when you add a pressure gauge sender, if I add a T I don't think it will work.
I welcome any options that you might have.
Also if anyone has a photo of their jobs it would be greatly appreciated.

Been there done that. What a pain in the %$%$ !
A tee on the oil pressure does work, but it is tight.
A very nice guy mailed me info on how to do it, but its on the boat. I'm going out this weekend, so I'll grab it and summarize it for you.

Yanmar makes a tee for the oil pressure. I got mine from Torrenson.s marine here in the US. The threds are 3/8 british but a standard 3/8 IPS will fit. You will have to build one for the water it fits in the temp sender hole on the thermostat base.

Would you happen to know the Yanmar part #?
I found one but I am not sure if it is the correct "T" and neither of my local reps even know about it.

When I got the ell I had to add a short nipple and mount it side ways from original design because of the fly wheel. But it worked fine.

Ok, here's the info I have.

Water temp:
Teleflex # 52320S009 3/8" NPT 120-240 degrees.
The original sender is left in place. Remove water hose nipple where it leaves the thermostat housing and install a threaded nipple and "T" (3/8). Reattach the water hose nipple into the end of the "T" and install the new sender to the "T".
This one is pretty easy.

Oil Pressure:
Teleflex # IA15001 1/8" NPT 80 psi
Remove the original sender which is 1/8" x 28 BSP.
And now for the part that will drive you nuts looking for it.
A 1/8" BSP to 1/8" NPT converter!
I managed to find one at a local hot rod shop for imported cars. This might be the only place where you can find these as I looked and looked for a long time before I came across this place.
I attached the converter to the middle of a 1/8" NPT "T" with the original sender and the new sender on either end. Its a tight fit, but no problems after 2 years. Take your time with the oil sender section, it can be tricky.

I used a complete set of matching gauges from Teleflex to complete the setup with the idiot lights and buzzer still functioning on the Yanmar engine panel. Here there are being test fitted:

I have installed this sensor on my dual yanmar diesels. I have attached them to a thermostat bolt. It has an audible alarm and displays digital temperature in either degrees C or F. I have no interest in the company personally but can recommend the equipment.

So this looks like a dead thread, but can you update me on the outcome? I don't feel comfortable with idiot lights and am wanting temp and oil pressure. Seems like you got some good feedback, just wondered if it worked for you.

What I did. I was lucky enough to find a new engine panel on ebay for $200 that had lights and gauges. I then bought a new engine wiring harness for another yanmar that had the extra wires. 1-temp light. 1- temp gauge etc.
I woult think the easiest and least expensive way would be to leave the original panel alone for the tachometer and warning lights. Add a temp and oil pressure gauge. Put a tee at the oil sender and add the new oil sender the same where the water temp at the thermostat add a tee and install both and power the new gauges from the ignition switch. Your orriginal warning lights work fine the way they are but you need new senders for the new gauges. A standard one will fit the older threads. There is a slight size difference in threads but mine were fine and no leaks.

An optional point to connect a oil sender is on the bottom of the block under where the oil pressure switch is located. There is a second port/plug there, that can be used as a second port. It connects internally to the oil galleys and actually feeds the oil sender port too. This is how a previous owner plumbed in a separate oil pressure gauge on my 3gm30f.
