Will I Lose Fewer Hats on a Multi?

Think I may be able to finance my multihull purchase by the savings on baseball caps. Seems like every damn time I look up at the main on my mono....

You need to find a good supplier who gives away caps. My insurance company has really good caps and gives them away with some regularity.

Re: Will I lose fewer hats on a multi?

Just do a small project on your boat using 5200 - problem solved.

Install a bimini, so you won't need to wear a hat for shade.

Six of one 1/2 dozen of the other, higher apparent wind will rip them off your head.
But larger horizontal deck will make them easier to retrieve.

You need the little string hickey with an alligator clip on each end, one clip on the hat one on your ear. The pain causes you to constantly touch your head!

You want to protect your ears also and you need a neck strap to keep the hat on your head.
I use a wide brim hat.

On a multi, you will have a constant gaggle of bikini babes surrounding you at all times - so they can keep your hat on for you.

This is one advantage of multis that isn't talked about a lot….

I lost exactly one hat on our trip this year from NC to Maine, and back to Annapolis. You must be doing something wrong. Do you have an odd head shape???

Re: Will I lose fewer hats on a multi?

OTOH, a good multi will generate a lot more apparent wind, thereby INCREASING your hat loss (all things being equal).

Try sitting in the back of the boat.
