Pronunciation of outremer - how to pronounce outremer correctly. think I'll just call them Out-reem-er.
not like that. In fact is easy. In French outremer does not exist as a single word but as: outre-mer and outre mer. "Outre mer" means another sea, "outre-mer" was used to mean the lands across the sea. It was used first to name the states in Palestine and middle east after the first crusade and later as a general name for the French territories across the sea. They still use it to mean that:

Les Outre-Mer

Anyway the pronunciation is simple and not Out-reem-er but simply outre-mer.

You have a point there. There are several type of Americans, the cult ones I believe they would try to call the boat by its proper name and the others... they would call it...whatever. All are in their right even if some non Americans would not understand of about what you are talking regarding Out-Reem-Er.

I am not French and I am not sure I would understand of what you would be talking about, at least immediately...but i guess that I would reach it...and in the end it has positive aspects: It is a always good to have a good laugh

Come to think of it I always called my old car a Porsch-a. I think Polux is right. I've been wrong about the O-boat all these years.
So

Just kidding I could not resist after someone saying that didn't like the Outremer because it did not like the way it sounded in "American" French. So you have a Porsch-a? What model?

If you want to dream, dream with the best:

Even if with this one unless you are very rich, it is really just a dream.
