Thanks for the recommendations. Made it to the MIBS for Sunday and Monday. That was very handy for checking several makers off the list. Walking through the boats, lifting hatches, and talking in person with others who have been there and done that was well worth leaving the 30°F and 26” of snow for sun and 75-84°F
. Walked through about 8 Lagoons, 4-5 Leopards, 2 NautiTecs, 3 Balis, a 62 Ocean Explorer (Oh my!), a Privelege, The Majestic 530, and an
Outremer. We passed on the FPs when they asked for SSN, name of first born, etc (good lord, they wouldn’t let us on without
email, city,
phone number, etc). It was late in the day and we were tired from the red-eye flight and heat. Wasn’t even worth Making up a
phone number.
As I was chatting with the owners of Royal Cape towards the end of the show, they said they were going for a quick sail the next day, pushing off at 0935. There was room for another. So,I got my first sail and in that short time learned quite a bit about features I never thought I’d want or wouldn’t want. I’m going to need lots of time on the
water in several cats before signing over this kind of cash.
Just Cats is across from the
airport, so I’m stopping by there before I fly out to poke around a Privelge Series 5, Majestic 530 with fly bridge (really like the idea of that), and a SunReef 62.
Next stop will be
Annapolis. Then I’ll consider another trip to southern
France.
Thanks again for the list of shows!
