What do you think of the lagoon 42 TPI?

Hi, I am in looking to buy a sailboat, most likely a cat for my family (2 adults, 2 kids (5 & 7)), to do a circumnavigation starting from the east coast of Australia (where I live) up to Asia and probably down to South Africa and beyond over several years. I have really only just started looking at boats and a good friend just recommended a catamaran for sale in NZ, Lagoon 42 TPI.

He has a friend in the area that will take a look at it for me, but I would really like some opinions from "the community" before I invest any more time into it.

Old Lagoons are relatively fast and well buit boats.She also seems to be pretty well equipped.
Check the mast and standing rigging well.


To be honest, the price (174.000 USD) seemed to me a bit high. Last year here a Belize 2002 in very good shape was sold for 130.000 USD.

Thanks Yeloya. Yes boats on this side of the ocean seem to be way more expensive than in the US.
