Re: Up date on my repairs,

Yesterday I went down to see my boat and do a few things to it,
Its so great to be able to start putting things back into it,

I got all the rigging on the mast ready to stand it up again, Next week I will stand the mast,
I need a new bracket for my mast head light,
I installed my new Bow roller, It fits perfect, Considering it has two sets in it to make it fit,
And to clear the Genoa Self Furler,
I fitted it to the existing cleat and holes at the back but new holes at the front,
Need a few new bolts for it, extra 12 mm for the stiffening plate under the deck and under the cleat,
Another plate under the bow to stop the bolts pulling thru,
I put a bolt thru the bow roller to lock it in place when Im travelling,
I made it because the new anchor dont go thru the existing hole,
I think I will buy a windlass for it, Its a bit heavy pulling the anchor up and I dont want to fall off the front of the boat,

My rudders have been repaired, Ready to go back in, Needs paint first,

Both my floors are back in, Its starting to look like a boat again,
My mast is the nearer one next to the car,

Re: Up date on my repairs,

The lease ran out so the Repairer had to move, So I had to move my boat too,
The Marina would not allow the repairer to repair my boat at the Marina, Even tho I am still paying the Marina's storage fees,

The boat is now under cover and it can be worked on all the time,
The truck was a house mover, The trailer goes up and down Hydraulically, So a Crane was unnessary to move it,

Re: Up date on my repairs,

After all the hassles you must be really anxious to see this work finished.

Is it still progressing OK? Back in December you said the hulls should be finished by January and in the water by March. I hope the new location gives a bit more incentive for work to be done.

Re: Up date on my repairs,

Well its getting very close now,
The repairer had to move, The Chandlery shop he had at the marina, had to go from the marina as well, Lots of trouble and strife all round that I was not involved in,

But it held up my boat repairs again,
If I had hair, I would have torn it out,
I am so over it,

But it is looking very nice from the piccys I got yesterday,
I will go down and see it today,
Its 80 kays away, I dont go down very often as I get upset to see nothings been done,

Re: Up date on my repairs,

Looking close to completed, but its been over 5 1/2 years of our life. How about some advice for the rest of us. If the same thing happened to you tomorrow, would you try to fix it again or scrap it and buy another boat??

I would take the insurance money and buy another boat, Without even thinking about it,

Regretfully, I thought other people would be the same as me,
I have a very strong work ethic which let me down as I thought other tradesmen would be like me,
But not so,
I have allways taken great pride in my work, and I expected others to be the same, With having the same work ethics and high quality manufacturing in all they do,
Personal satisfaction in a job well done is no longer a consideration in a lot of people,
Im Old School, Pride in your work is Par for the course,
Now, Its any thing goes, Sadly,

Re: Up date on my repairs,

So good to see this cheery update from you Brian.

I'm keen to take a closer look one day.

What area is it in? I'm trying to do a distance calc as I know exactly where it was before as I've seen it there. Is it on the Port Phillip side?

How's your old neighbour going on his scratch-built Farrier?

Its in Denham road, Just out of Hastings, No where near the water, Its on a private building site,
It will be back in the water at Yaringa Marina till its ready to take off,
I will make sure every thing works again, I have to put a lot of stuff back in it again,

Havent seen the bloke with the Trimaran for over a year, But he was going great with it the last time I saw it,
He might be in the water before I am, Hahaha
