Re: Trimarans - All Piver Trimarans.

I found a Piver 48 for $30k. Still new into sailing .. still new into catamarans... Why so cheap? Interested in finding something to sail around the world with the family and thought I would have to spend 500k for something to do the job and be comfortable.

Re: Trimarans - All Piver Trimarans.

First I would like to say that I am fairly new to this forum thing and would like to apologize in advance for any blunders I might make and I welcome any advice or suggestions. Now for my main reason for this post. I used to own a second hand Piver Frolic. It was in poor shape and needed major repairs. I was also in the military at the time so when I got orders to go over seas I ended up scraping it. I did keep the sails and most of the hardware though. I possibly could have stored it but don't remember now why I didn't. Now I would like to build another one but have been unable to find any plans. I checked the Maritime Museum and yes the have many of Piver's boat plans but they didn't have the Frolic. If anyone can help me out in any way I would greatly appreciate it.

Re: Trimarans - All Piver Trimarans.

Hello group. The family owned a homebuilt Victress in the 70s and 80s. It was sold in Florida I think around 83 or 84. We lost track of it and I have been wondering what became of it. It might be a "zombie" by now or even have been cut up and scrapped or it might still be alive somewhere. The main distinguishing feature was a fully enclosed deck house "pilot house" with 4 windows across the front. Would be interested to know what became of it. If anyone knows of an old Victress sitting in some backwater or yard give me a shout. Currently own my self built Ian Ferrier Command 10 "plywoody" built in the 80s. Currently sailing from Ventura harbor, Ca.
