Re: Thinking of Selling your Cat ?

Barry has been very busy on forums all over, but he is consistent. CATAMARAN DESIGN and BRIDEDECK CLEARANCE - SailNet Community

Perhaps look back to the early 80's or earlier for any results.

The records in the site and the one at olympics.org go back to 1896

Happened to come across this posting and thought that I would chime in.

We met with Pegasus and sailed a few days with them. Pegasus is a great boat. The owners have constantly upgraded her and with the refit photos she looks really good.

Especially if you threaten to let out any more secrets and special information to the forum about what crappy boats Seawinds are.
Knowledge is power, Baz. You are a powerful man. Use it wisely!
What do you mean? We had a Catana 471 ... bare chartered a Seawind in Whitsundays and absolutely fell IN LOVE with the seawind.
Came home, sold the Catana and although we ended up not buying the seawind on account of wanting a bigger boat, we always think back (on the Seawind) with fond memories of it. It was called SEA DRAGON and was with the charter company called Whitsunday Escapes ... GREAT BOAT

Re: Thinking of Selling your Cat ?

POH message for you.

Can't sort out the PM message system yet.

I have a Catana 381 in North Florida. It will sail the pants off 75% of the production Cats for sale. I'm sailing at 35 deg to windward @ 12 knots (that is to windward mate x 24 = 288 miles in 24 hours) fast enough???

bazcatanaATyahooDOTcoDOTuk

Can't say more in the Forum pages, too many ears and thickows reading.

This is a special Catana 381 Tuned up by a Tornado Olympic Helmsman that nobody has herd of.

Yeah ... that's very possible ... but we do that in a Lagoon 440 which is a 'cruising boat' and we don't have dagger boards which we had on our Catana 471! I will admit the dagger boards make quite a difference on the ACTUAL track over ground made good!

Correction ... Bazcatana ... if you are telling us you average 12 Knots speed over 24 hours sailing to windward ... yeah ... you are faster than me!
Strangely ... we never got that average out of our 471 ... you sail well!
